Since 2020, the Institute has been carrying out a meticulous work of preservation, restoration, surveying, cataloging, and digitization of its collection of over 150,000 items in various formats and collections - involving an interdisciplinary team composed of museologists, archivists, historians, architects, and consultants in different areas.
About 10% of the collection has been fully digitized, indicating the long-term work that needs to be developed until all the complete material is available online.
With the intention of making part of the already cataloged material public, the Institute is making available the first phase of the georeferenced map of the landscape projects, covering an initial overview of up to 100 gardens by Burle Marx and his team. On the map, it will be possible to explore these projects through a tour of the different items from the Institute's collection that have already been digitized, such as technical drawings, photographs, gouache plans, documents, and sketches; in addition to the technical sheet and explanatory text of each location.
